Exploraciones sobre la respiración como control alternativo para interactuar con un mundo virtual

Resumen

Se presenta un trabajo de reflexión y práctica de arte interactivo enfocado en percepción, cognición corporizada, respiración y tecnología DIY para la Realidad Virtual.  Luego de una crítica sobre la tecnología vestible como forma de extractivismo fisiológico, se plantea una salida posible mediante usos creativos de la tecnología (el hacking) en relación con las prácticas cercanas al mindfulness. Haciendo uso de categorías de enfoque de HCI, se tienden puentes mediante los game studies y la noción de controles alternativos. En el contexto de los juegos, la cognición encarnada permite una experiencia lúdica que posibilita la enacción, algo imprescindible para la práctica de la meditación plena. El abordaje de controles alternativos y queering sostiene la consonancia con la apropiación crítica de la tecnología al operar desde el hacking. Se describe una instalación inmersiva entretejida con las reflexiones descritas que incorpora mecanismos interactivos alternativos mediante el control consciente de la respiración. El artículo cierra con conclusiones sobre este proceso de reflexión crítica para HCI desde la práctica del arte interactivo.
