Desarrollo y evaluación de un simulador de RV para la valoración obstétrica de cérvix y fontanelas

Este trabajo describe el desarrollo y evaluación de un simulador de Realidad Virtual para el entrenamiento de la técnica de exploración en el campo de la Obstetricia. El simulador se ha basado en un dispositivo háptico Novint Falcon que permite al usuario sentir la fuerza que produce tocar un objeto virtual. En concreto, este trabajo se ha centrado en la exploración que realizan las matronas para buscar las fontanelas en la cabeza del feto y así averiguar su orientación, clave para conocer la presentación del feto y adelantarse a posibles complicaciones. Así, el simulador permite entrenar presentaciones cefálicas en todos sus modos y orientaciones, y tiene un modo aleatorio que facilita el uso sin supervisión a modo de autoevaluación. Este desarrollo se ha llevado a cabo usando la metodología TRES-D, que parte de características de otras metodologías para el desarrollo de interfaces tradicionales y añade aquellos aspectos necesarios para la creación de interfaces como las de Realidad Virtual. En el desarrollo se ha contado con la colaboración de una matrona para validar cada avance, y tras el mismo ha sido evaluado por otras cuatro matronas que han corroborado la fidelidad del simulador y constatado su potencial.
